Does My Policy cover chiropractic care?
Most Insurance policies cover Chiropractic Care to some degree. Each plan is different. Two plans we know DO NOT cover Chiropractic Treatment in our office: BCBS-HealthKeepers policies and Walmart-Provided Policies.
An exam is required.
An examination is required by all insurance policies to identify the presence of a subluxation. All insurance carriers cover examination charges under every policy that covers Chiropractic. Please contact your specific plan to find out if you have a deductible (portion you are responsible for before insurance will begin to pay for your medical care), coinsurance (a percentage of the charge amounts insurance deems the policy-holder's responsibility) or a copayment (aka "copay" - this is a set dollar amount, no matter the services provided.)
Aside from the spinal manipulation, you may also need other therapies in your care including muscle stimulation, dry needling, traction, or other therapies.
